Putting for dough: golfers raise funds for Laureus in Argentina
Celebrated TV sports presenter and commentator Alejandro Klappenbach shows his style on the tee as he takes part in the Laureus Golf Day at Nordelta, Buenos Aires, presented by Mercedes-Benz, which raised funds for the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation in Argentina.
Laureus World Sports Academy Member Hugo Porta, President of Fundación Laureus Argentina, hosted the event, which was attended by leading figures from sport and entertainment such as Marcelo Gallardo, Sebastian Battaglia, Sebastián Rambert, Guillermo Francella and Martin Seefeld.
Funds raised from the Laureus Golf Day, which was won by the team of brothers Sandro and Alejandro Guzman, Fernando Barbagelatta and Jose Sosa, will help to assist the work of Laureus, which uses sport to help with the development of children and support at-risk young people in Argentina.
Also in the field were Laureus Ambassadors Alejandra Garcia Flood, Eduardo Heguy, Nicolas Fernandez Miranda and Juan de la Cruz Fernández Miranda, who regularly volunteer their time to support the Fundación Laureus Argentina.
Hug Porta said: “Thanks to all who played for believing in Laureus and thanks to the companies and participants who share our belief that sport can change the world.”
Players in the field had the chance to win a Smart car from Mercedes-Benz Argentina and IWC Schaffhausen donated a Aquatimer Automatic 2000 timepiece. Mercedes-Benz and IWC are both Global Partner of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.
