The Laureus family says goodbye to Marvin Newman
January, 16, 2013
It is with great sadness and shock that Laureus says goodbye to our friend and colleague Marvin Newman, who passed away yesterday.
Marvin was a much valued member of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation South Africa team, where he had worked tirelessly for the benefit of others for over eight years.
Marvin will be remembered for the great spirit and constant good humour with which he undertook his work. It was this that made him so admired by his colleagues and the many others he worked with to help in South Africa.
This love and admiration will forever be a testament to what he achieved in life, and a constant inspiration to those who continue his work.
Chairman of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation South Africa Morne du Plessis sends the following message:
Marvin epitomised what the Laureus movement stands for, his love for sport, his true compassion for those less fortunate, his honesty, loyalty, and work ethic.
He was loved and admired by all he had made contact with in his life. We will miss him greatly.
