The Great Britain cycling team for Beijing dominated the velodrome and brought back eight gold medals, four silver and two bronze. The gold medallists were Nicole Cooke (Women's Road Race), Chris Hoy (Men's Sprint & Keirin), Victoria Pendleton (Women’s Sprint), Rebecca Romero (Women’s Individual Pursuit), Bradley Wiggins (Men’s Individual Pursuit), Paul Manning, Ed Clancy, Geraint Thomas, Bradley Wiggins (Men’s Team Pursuit) and Chris Hoy, Jason Kenny and Jamie Staff (Men’s Team Sprint).
Chris Hoy’s three gold medals was the best individual British performance since 1908.
