The 28-year-old Jamaican athlete continued her dominance of the 100 metres with her second straight World Championships gold medal and her third overall. She is the only female to be crowned world champion over 100m three times (2009, 2013, 2015). In Beijing, she also anchored the Jamaican women's 4 x 100m team to a gold medal. She had a dominant 2015 season, losing only once in the 100m throughout the entire year. She has now won seven World Championships gold medals in different events and is the only female to hold both world and Olympic titles on two separate occasions (2008 Olympic title and 2009 World title, and the 2012 Olympic and 2013 World title).
