The S13 visually impaired swimmer from Belarus finished the Rio de Janeiro Paralympic Games as the most decorated athlete after winning six individual gold medals and a bronze. His demanding programme of 14 races, including heats and finals, in nine days saw him top the podium in the 50, 100 and 400 metres freestyle, 100 metres backstroke, 100 metres butterfly and 200 metres individual medley. His bronze came in the 100 metres breaststroke. During competition he broke the world record in the 100m butterfly and 100m backstroke events.
