The 19-year-old American made a significant step towards the summit of her sport by beating Aryna Sabalenka 2-6 6-3 6-2 at the US Open to claim her first Grand Slam title. She became the first American teenager to triumph at Flushing Meadows since Serena Williams in 1999. In 2023, she won her first WTA 1000 title at the Cincinnati Masters. To date she has won six WTA Tour singles titles and eight doubles titles. She finished the year ranked No.3 in the world.
