In the wheelchair tennis singles final at the Paris Paralympics, he came back from match point down to world No.1 Alfie Hewett to become the youngest Paralympic winner in the sport’s history at the age of 18. He also won silver in the doubles in what was a memorable fortnight in the French capital.

His win a year earlier in the 2023 French Open had already made him the youngest man to win a major tennis tournament in the Open Era, at 17 years and 33 days. Tokito, who recovered from bone cancer when he was nine, has written two books and donated more than a thousand copies to local children
