Sport plays a pivotal role in driving positive change in the lives of children and young people, and that was proven in many ways in 2024.
The year saw Laureus Sport for Good projects and programmes impact 258,000+ participants. More than 50 percent were girls and young women, which is an important achievement as Laureus aims to strengthen its gender equity programming.
Laureus supported 293 programmes and initiatives that use sport as a tool to tackle violence, discrimination and inequality across 36 countries or territories. That support isn’t only seen in grantmaking— it’s also through the development of policies; evidencing the impact of these initiatives; and delivery of capacity-building trainings (more than 8,500 coaches were trained) to strengthen our local partners implementing the work day in and day out.
