Gerd Schoenfelder won a clutch of titles in Europe in 2001. He took Eurocup gold in Pitztal in the slalom, the giant slalom and the Super-G; claimed Eurocup gold in Austria in the slalom and clinched further gold in the Eurocup final, also in Austria, in the slalom.
He also won the World Cup giant slalom in Queyras, France in January this year and both the World Cup giant slalom and slalom titles in Wildschönau, Austria, later the same month.
