Recovered from a horrific training crash that threatened to end her career to become the first alpine skier to win four medals – three golds and silver - in a single Olympiad at the 2002 Winter Olympics, a record equalled only by Jean-Claude Killy and Austria's Toni Sailer. Went on to clinch two gold medals at the world championships in St. Moritz during February.
