Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all time, produced one of the most amazing comebacks in the history of sport when he won five gold medals and one silver at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. His amazing feat made him the most successful athlete of the Games for the fourth Olympics in a row.
Phelps retired from swimming after the 2012 London Olympics, as the most decorated Olympian ever with 22 medals, including 18 gold, but he came back to the pool in 2015 and has now increased his total to 28 medals, including 23 gold. Phelps was also captain and flag bearer of the US Olympic Team in Rio.
