The captain of French team Lyon, she was at the heart of another remarkable season as the club won their fifth straight UEFA Women’s Champions League - their seventh in ten years. She has played in all of them, and scored five goals in their 2019/20 victory, including the semi-final winner against Paris Saint-Germain. To date, she has played 122 games for France scoring 25 goals, a remarkable total for a defender.

I am grateful, but I take it on behalf of the entire Olympique Lyonnais team. What we have achieved over so many years has been amazing. I know how much Laureus supports girls and young women by using sport to improve their lives, their education possibilities and their equality, so that makes me very happy to receive this Nomination.
