In 2020–21, she played a major role as FC Barcelona won the UEFA Women's Champions League with an emphatic 4-0 victory over English team Chelsea, the biggest ever winning margin in the final. Putellas scored a penalty to put Barcelona 2–0 up in 13 minutes, then played a ball through for Bonmatí to score Barcelona's third.
Putellas was named UEFA Women's Player of the Year, becoming the first Spanish player to be chosen, and also won the Ballon d'Or. Widely regarded as one of the best players in the world, she has won five league titles and six Copa de la Reina with Barcelona. She has played more than 90 times for Spain.
