Returned to golf and played in two Major Championships in 2022 despite leg injuries suffered in a serious car crash in February 2021, after which he needed the surgical insertion of a rod, pins and screws to stabilise the damage. At the Masters in April he made the cut, playing all four days, then in July he played in the 150th Open Championship at St Andrews, this time missing the cut.
