It is now over two decades since Paris Basket 18 began as a neighbourhood club founded by two PE teachers from the Gérard Philipe college. The club has enjoyed several title successes along the way, while a number of its players have also represented French national teams and participated in the Olympic Games. Beyond the development of women’s sport, Paris Basket 18 also promotes social integration and has an extensive outreach into its community.
Each year, Paris Basket 18 attracts more than 3,500 young people to its programmes, which seek to pass on key values such as respect and tolerance. They have seen their participants benefit from many activities including public speaking workshops, school monitoring, cultural and sporting outings, stays and referee training.
