UK-based Street League uses sport to help young people aged 14-30 secure employment. Street League recognises the links between wellbeing, health and employment – and works with schools, communities and employers to equip young people with the confidence, motivation, skills and qualifications needed to succeed in the world of work.
Participants can benefit from their 10-week employability academies, which combine classroom work with sporting activity; job clubs, a drop-in service focusing on maximising employability; and Street Sports sessions, where young people get involved in a wide range of activities.
Between 2023 and 2024, they helped 1,317 young people get a job, apprenticeship, education and/or vocational training programme, and engaged a total of 2,550 unemployed young people, resulting in 33,921 individual attendances.
