Aged 22, she won the 2024 Olympic women’s surfing gold medal in Tahiti. Marks – the youngest woman ever to surf on the Championship Tour and at the Olympics – was voted Rookie of the Year on the world surfing tour in 2018, but in February 2022 she withdrew before the second event of the season and took time away to deal with some recurring health issues.
