Following a gap of eight years, Switzerland’s 32-year-old Lara Gut-Behrami won her second overall World Cup title in 2024, having last previously won in the 2015-16 season, shortly before suffering an anterior cruciate ligament tear which cut her subsequent campaign short. She also won individual World Cup titles in Super G – her seventh – and giant slalom.
She is the first Swiss woman to win three different World Cup classifications in a single season since Vreni Schneider in 1995, and with 45 World Cup victories to her name across three disciplines, as well as three Olympic gold medals, she is widely considered as one of the all-time greats in Alpine skiing.
