Spain became the most successful team in European Championship history with a record fourth win, having previously won in 1964, 2008 and 2012. Under coach Luis de la Fuente, the team dominated the event from start to finish, winning all seven games without needing penalties – a feat never achieved before. En route to victory they beat every other European nation who have ever won a World Cup – Italy, Germany, France and England. In Rodri they had the Player of the Tournament, while teenage sensation Lamine Yamal was awarded the Young Player of the Tournament after providing four assists for his team-mates, including Dani Olmo who shared the Golden Boot.
