Already twice winner of the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year Award, Michael Schumacher won his seventh Formula One World Championship title in 2004 at 35.
His remarkable Ferrari, with its speed, good handling and reliability, proved easily the best car on the grid and allied to the German’s brilliant driving skills the partnership proved irresistible with Schumacher winning 12 of the first 13 races.  It was his fifth consecutive World Championship for Ferrari to add to the two he won with Benetton.
In his career, Schumacher has won 83 Grand Prix, an incredible achievement in a sport that once considered Alain Prost's total of 51 unbeatable.  His ever-improving career statistics are records that are likely to stand for decades to come.  Schumacher's incredible work ethic, ruthless determination and almost robotic perfection has made him widely regarded as one of the leading Grand Prix drivers of all time.
