25 Years of Laureus

Sebastian Vettel’s victory in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in November made him the youngest ever winner of the Formula One World Championship, at 23 years 134 days, overtaking Britain’s Lewis Hamilton, who held the previous record with 23 years 300 days.
The final standings had Vettel on 256 points, four points clear of Alonso and 14 ahead of Webber.
During an exciting year, Vettel, whose hero on the track was seven-time German world champion Michael Schumacher, won five Grand Prix – Malaysia, Europe (Valencia), Japan, Brazil and Abu Dhabi. He won three out of the last four races which proved pivotal to his winning the title. Red Bull also won the World Constructors Championship.
