Won his second Formula One World Championship in 2014, with 11 Grand Prix victories. For much of the season, Hamilton was behind his Mercedes AMG Petronas team-mate Nico Rosberg, but he won six of the final seven Grand Prix to clinch a memorable world title. During the year he achieved five consecutive victories for the first time in his career and with 33 wins became the most successful British driver, overtaking Nigel Mansell who won 31. He was the winner of the Laureus Breakthrough of the Year Award in 2008.
