25 Years of Laureus

Became the youngest ever Formula One World Champion at the age of 23 years and 300 days.  It was arguably the most dramatic end ever to a Formula One World Championship with Hamilton passing Timo Glock at the very last corner of the last Grand Prix of the season in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to finish fifth and secure the points he needed to clinch the title ahead of Felipe Massa, who won the race.
Driving a McLaren Mercedes, it had been a difficult season for Hamilton, who had the Belgian Grand Prix taken away for him for incorrect overtaking at a chicane.
Hamilton won last year’s Laureus World Breakthrough of the Year Award after finishing second in his inaugural season in Formula One.
