One of Britain’s greatest Paralympians, in 2014 Sarah Storey won four world cycling titles in her first year back in action after giving birth to her daughter. At the track World Championships she won the individual pursuit in a new world record time and the scratch race. She followed this up with world titles in the road World Championships in the individual time trial and individual road races.
Storey, who was born without a functioning left hand, competed as a swimmer before switching to cycling. In her career, lasting more than 20 years, she has won 11 gold, eight silver and three bronze medals in six Paralympic Games and has secured 20 world titles.
